Etc...

Farewell

Hi Bloggies,

So as of tomorrow I will be heading to NYC then off on a 40-day trip as a trip leader for Westcoast Connection. I will be traveling with 5 other staff and 31 teens across Canada, the USA, and on a cruise. Unfortunately, I will not be bringing my computer so my blogging will have to be on pause until mid-August. Here is a map of where I will be going:

I hope everyone has an amazing summer and I can't wait to start up again in August with Fall trends and pictures from my trip!

You choose from a large selection of shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, jewelry, shoes, and handbags which are all known designers. You also get to decide on the model, background, and body shape. stacieblair's Summer Shopping Bag

If you know me well enough, you know that I am a pretty big shopaholic. Since I finished school in April, I've been busy scoping out the stores and checking out the latest summer trends. One of my go-to stores lately has been Aritzia. They are always carrying merchandise that defines my personal style, which I love. Here is a sneak peak of some of my recent purchases for the summer:

FIFA World Cup Fashion

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is taking place in South Africa. Whether you are at the games or cheering from home or a bar, it's important to show your team spirit. Although Canada did not qualify this year, I have been watching with my brother and supporting some of his favourite teams. A great way to show your pride is to dress in your team's colours. Aritiza, although a store with trendy clothing and accessories, always has fashionable gear to help you support your country. They are currently selling Adidas World Cup track jackets for Italy, Spain, Germany, Argentina, England, or Brazil.

Wear them with jeans, leggings, shorts, or a skirt and you will look cute while still being patriotic!

Even if you don't have a favourite team, these track jackets have great colours and are super cute.

Simple Sunday

The weather in Toronto has been cool and cloudy. Even though the sun wasn't out today, I was excited to wear this crochet sweater from Aritzia. It's perfect for a day like today: slightly chilly but no rain. My leopard flats are always a fun addition to an outfit. I'm not such a fan of leopard clothing, but these flats are simple yet feminine with a cute bow.

Have a lovely Monday beauties!

Diva Designer: Mara Hoffman

Mara Hoffman

In the summertime, I try to keep my black clothes hidden away in my closet. Like this dress, I love wearing a variety of colours. While browsing my daily fashion sites, I came across some clothes from Mara Hoffman's Spring 2010 collection. One word to describe her collection is: colourful.

Her collection of skirts, dresses and tops range from girly to funky to casual chic. Perfect for a summer wedding or night out, Mara's outfits will definitely get you noticed. I haven't seen that much of her collection around Toronto, but I do know that sell it at Jac Flash on Queen Street. It is also available online at Shopbop

Mara first got started on Sex and the City, and ever since, her designs have been worn by many celebrities. Her specialty is dyed and batiked jersey-knit garments, with an inspiration from nature and beauty around the world.

Here are some of my fave pieces:

Little Miss Sunshine

I've been waiting all winter to wear this dress. Yellow is one of my favourite colours to wear; its bright, fun, and helps bring out my hazel-yellow eyes. I loved the simple ruffle detailing on this dress and figured with different accessories, it would be perfect for day or night. Also, when it's cold, my jean jacket is the perfect addition. Being a girly-girl, I would wear dresses everyday of the year if I could.

Yellow Marciano Dress, Andre Assous Espadrilles, Anthropologie Necklace, "Stacie"Necklace, Tiffany's Bow Necklace, Dior Sunglasses, Chanel Purse, "What's with the Cattitude" OPI on Nails.

Diva Designer: Yumi Kim

Yumi Kim

The Lower East Side in Manhattan is one of my favorite places to visit in NYC. There are tons of great restaurants and cafes, and designer and independent boutiques. Living in Union Square last summer, I visited the Lower East Side quite frequently since it was close by. While browsing one day with my friend, we walked into the Yumi Kim shop on Stanton Street, and fell in love.

Kim Phan, the owner, opened her Manhattan store in Fall 2008. The store includes the Yumi Kim collection, along with vintage jackets, boots, dresses and handbags. Her collection is filled with unique prints, colours and styles made for the urban and funky female.

Here are some pieces from her summer collection:

Besides her flagship store in the Lower east side, her collection can also be found at Intermix, Ron Herman, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, and Saks.

J. Crew Bridal Store

My love for J. Crew just grew substantially.

The opening of the J. Crew bridal store was Tuesday night in Manhattan. The store is two levels, full of wedding dresses, jewelry, shoes, veils and headpieces, and accessories any bride or bridesmaid might need for the big day. Knowing that the regular store is full of elegant yet simple products, there is no question the bridal store will follow in those footprints.

J. Crew's president, Tracy Gardner, told Styleist that "We wanted to create an incredible experience for the bride because getting married is all about the romance and experience. It's such a special day and we wanted to be a part of that. We see this store as a platform to continue to show off our incredible design, our service and personality."

Here are some of my favourite dresses:

The dresses are not that pricey, ranging from $400 to $2000. The bridal store is located on Madison Avenue at 66th Street. It looks so beautiful inside, I can't wait to visit soon. Possibly in the future, when I am engaged, I will be wearing a J. Crew dress to my wedding!

Joe Fresh Nail Polish

The best part of shopping at Loblaws is visiting Joe Fresh. With stylish clothing, shoes, and accessories, Joe Fresh offers great styles for less. Recently, I discovered that Joe Fresh now has nail polish!

There are over 30 different colours, including a base/top coat. They are only $4, or 3 colours for $10! They even have some of my favourite new colours for summer, including powder blue, faded violet, mint, and coral (seen below). Unfortunately, these colours were sold out when I visited, so I will have to visit another Loblaws soon!

Although I haven't tried them out yet, I read a review on Canadian Beauty website, and the reviewer seemed impressed with the polish: "They looked flawless, lasted a long time, and I didn't have to go to the trouble of using a base and top coat. The only thing I didn't like about the polishes is that the bottle is short and stubby....But still, given that these are such great quality, I would continue to use them and I purchase whatever colour is in season whenever I want."

I can't wait to get my hands on these!

Hot Off The Press: TOPSHOP

TOPSHOP Coming to Toronto

At first when TOPSHOP started delivering to Canada in April, I was ecstatic. But recently, it was announced that TOPSHOP is coming to Toronto! A boutique on Ossington called Jonathan + Olivia is TOPSHOP's new Toronto home. The store opens on June 19th, and there is no question that I will be there bright and early.

The TOPSHOP store will carry the TOPSHOP mainline, and Unique+Boutique collections, including footwear. Plus for Fall 2010, Kate Moss collection and the new make-up line will be added.

Jonathan + Olivia seems to be a hidden gem selling popular designers like Alexander Wang, Garments, Kain, Rag and Bone, Zero + Maria Cornejo, and many more. There is no doubt that this store will draw people from around Canada and the US.

I will let you know how it is on June 19th!
