It’s Time for Fummer

Fummer: the transition period between summer and fall. Although some people are eagerly waiting for fall merchandise to explode into stores, myself being one, others try to hold onto summer for as long as possible, even if that means freezing in flip flops and shorts. Deciding what to wear at the end of August until mid-September may be difficult because it’s fall yet the weather is still mild. An easy way to survive this short period is to combine both your summer and fall wardrobe. Here are some outfit ideas that will keep you warm or cold, and of course fashionable:

Look 1: Lengthen your body with an easy-to-wear maxi dress. Paired with animal-printed sandals, a jean jacket and hat, this look is great for Labor Day weekend or your first day of school.
Fall 4

Look 2: Look like a hotter version of your boyfriend in high-waisted shorts, oxford shoes, a satchel, and an oversized button-up top.

Le Fou by Wilfred

Wilfred is one of my favourite lines sold at Aritzia. Now that Fall is approaching, Wilfred has introduced their new collection "Le Fou." The collection is soft and minimalistic, adding a feminine touch to any outfit.

I especially love the soft colours against the navy contrast. I can't wait to get my hands on this collection soon!

Accessorize

Dress-up Your Wound

When I was a kid, I always made my mom buy me Barbie or the colourful Band-Aids. The decorative bandage somehow always made my boo boo feel that much better.
Thanks to Cynthia Rowley, I can throw away my boring clear bandages and buy her newly designed, stylish Band-Aids. For $10, you can cover up your nasty, bloody cut with sequins or a Cynthia Rowley deisgn. Sounds good to me! These Band-Aids are limited edition and $1 from each sale will go to Design Ignites Change, an organization that engages high school and school students in design and architecture projects that address social issues in their own communities.
Even though I'm 22, I manage to still give into the pretty, to no purpose chachkas. These might be along the same line as the Chanel fake tattoos, but I could see people using these even if they don't have a cut to cover up. For $10, they go to a good cause, and even if you don't wear them, you get 20 decorative Band-Aids and a cute tin box.

Transition into Fall

Hollister Jorts, Garage T-Shirt, Wilfred Jacket, Burberry Purse, Fendi "S" Necklace, Minnetonka Moccasins

Although it may seem difficult to change over your wardrobe from shorts and tank tops to sweaters and scarves, it is easier than you think. A great way to start is to continue wearing some of your summer clothing and add some new fall clothing. This is exactly my thinking when I planned this outfit. Saying bye to my jorts (jean shorts) is going to be hard, but I know I can wear them with a fall jacket or even tights when the weather starts to cool down.

How do you plan to change into fall?

Follow Her Style: Ashley Olsen

I'm pretty sure I've loved MK&A since their Full House days. These twins are truly remarkable, from their clothing lines Row and Elizabeth and James, to their ownership of Dualstar Entertainment. Over the past 5 years, the Olsens have developed their own personal style which draws lots of attention. Ashley's boho-casual style is also so simple yet distinct. This outfit is great for fall with a leather jacket and military boots or flats.

Whether it be fur or animal print, designers for fall and winter are showcasing their animal instincts. Paired with cargos or jeans, a fur vest will take you far this season. I am still on the hunt for the perfect fur piece, but have my eye on a couple of vests and jackets in Toronto. Just make sure to keep your outfit simple when paired with a print or else you may look a bit too ferocious. Meowwww!

BeautyBabe

Essie Fall Collection

One of my favourite things about fall, besides the shopping, is when the leaves change colours. It's always so pleasant to drive through the city and see shades of grey, green and red. Essie's fall collection perfectly captures the beauty of the season. The collection consists of 4 colours:

Limited Addiction
Sew Psyched
Merino Cool
Little Brown Dress

Although they won't be available until the beginning of September, I have been obsessing over them for the past month! My first fall mani will definitely be with Sew Psyched, the smoky-greyish-green shade.

Hot Off The Press: Aritzia

Aritzia Fall/Winter 2010 Preview
Hello bloggies! I'm back... going 40 days without blogging was very hard, but I'm ready and excited to start writing again. I hope you are all having an amazing summer, because my past 40 days traveling were so incredible!

Aritzia, being one of my favourite stores, showcased their Fall/Winter collection last week in Vancouver. The collection consists of pieces from Aritzia's own TNA, Talula, Talula Babaton, and Wilfred. Let's just say this fall you will be seeing a lot of camel, tan, chunky sweaters, boyfriend style, and patterns. This makes me very happy. Thanks to A Haute Mess, here are some shots from the show:

Who's excited to start Fall shopping after seeing this? I know I am...
