Summer Looks... By Occasion

Whether you're heading to The Hamptons or Toronto Beaches, it's always fun to look cute on the beach. This look is for the girly beach chick who likes to look cute yet chic. Look above: Topshop Bathing Suit and Cover-up, Michael Kors Sunglasses and Bag, and Tory Burch Sandals.

It's always nice to take a break from work in the summer and go away. Sometimes more money is spent on getting ready for a trip, then actually on the trip. If you're heading to Europe or somewhere exotic this summer, make sure to pack a comfortable pair of wedges and a floral maxi dress. Look above: Miu Miu Purse, Chloe Wedges, Michael Kors Watch, YSL Lipstick, and T-Bags Dress.

With a couple weddings coming up, I recently started a dress hunt. I have been looking for a form-fitting, neutral-coloured dress and so far I have had a lot of luck. I actually tried on option 1- the Alice + Olivia dress, and I fell in love. With a pair of nude pumps, my outfit will be complete. Let the search continue!

The perfect mix of beauty and excitement, The Black Swan is about a ballerina (Natalie Portman) who loses her mind in order to prove her talent and ambition. Filled with an abundance of tutu's and ballet slippers, the costuming is dynamic in the film.  Natalie Portman played a beautiful ballerina, and above is an inspiration from the film.

Happy new year! I'm sorry I haven't posted over the past month, work has been extremely busy and I was away for NYE in Montreal visiting some friends. Anyways, with a new year brings new clothes, shoes, and shopping adventures. On a recent shopping day, I visited The Bay since I can always count on finding a big selection of Free People clothing. To my surprise, they had Spring merchandise on the floor. Full of neutrals, maxi-style, lace, and unique detailing, I tried on a bunch of pieces, and ended up going home with a knit sweater and maxi dress. Even though I can't wear these pieces for a while, they are definitely worth the wait! Above is a preview of Free People's Spring collection.

I am a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff's edgy yet flirty style. Her handbags are classic yet add some playfulness to any outfit. Rebecca's career started with a five-piece apparel line in 2001. In 2005, she decided to experiment with handbags, and that's how the iconic "Morning After Bag" was born. In honor of Thanksgiving in the US, you lucky Americans can participate in Rebecca Minkoff's Black Friday online sale. Starting Friday at midnight through Monday the 29th, shoppers will get free ground domestic shipping on orders over $100. Happy Thanksgiving and shop lots!!

Lanvin for H&M

This long awaited collaboration is finally hitting stores in Canada and the US on November 20th. The women's collection consists of 30 pieces and 15 accessories ranging from clothing, jewelry, hats, handbags, makeup, and footwear. There is also a men's collection, consisting of 25 pieces and 10 accessories. The collections look amazing, and I can't wait to see this wicked collaboration in person. I especially have my eye on the one-shoulder ruffle yellow dress. Better mark your calendar, $200 Lanvin dresses will be flying off the shelves.

Here is a sneak peak from the Lookbook:

Even though I was unable to attend New York Fashion Week, I have been constantly checking the New York Magazine website fashion section. With snapshots from all of the Spring 2011 collections, I am able to get a front row seat of all of the shows. Here is a glimpse from some of my favourite collections:

It’s Time for Fummer

Fummer: the transition period between summer and fall. Although some people are eagerly waiting for fall merchandise to explode into stores, myself being one, others try to hold onto summer for as long as possible, even if that means freezing in flip flops and shorts. Deciding what to wear at the end of August until mid-September may be difficult because it’s fall yet the weather is still mild. An easy way to survive this short period is to combine both your summer and fall wardrobe. Here are some outfit ideas that will keep you warm or cold, and of course fashionable:

Look 1: Lengthen your body with an easy-to-wear maxi dress. Paired with animal-printed sandals, a jean jacket and hat, this look is great for Labor Day weekend or your first day of school.
Fall 4

Look 2: Look like a hotter version of your boyfriend in high-waisted shorts, oxford shoes, a satchel, and an oversized button-up top.
