The Designer Cookie

I've always had my eye on a bakeshop near my house, the pretty pink sign with cursive letters made me wonder what's inside. I finally decided to visit the bakeshop, The Designer Cookie, on the weekend. This was the best decision of my weekend.

From cookies to cupcakes, they bake everything on-site. They also allow customers to design/create their own cupcakes or cookies.

One of my favourite parts of this bakeshop are the names of the cookies and cupcakes. Since they are called the "Designer Cookie," their products are named after fashionable brands.

Some of my faves are: "Cocoa Chanel" - classic dough with chocolate chips - classic cookie; "Christian Louboutea" - vanilla sesame cake with Japanese Matcha green tea frosting; "Lemon For All Mankind" - lemon-infused cake with cream cheese frosting and lemon zest; and "Chewy Vuitton" - oatmeal dough with white chocolate chips.

On the weekend they had a mojito cupcake which looked divine.

The Designer Cookie is located at 292 Eglinton Ave W.... I suggest you check it out!

Food Glorious Food: Frozen Yogurt

Blushberry

My prayers have been answered... thanks to Blushberry. For all you Torontonians, I have WONDERFUL news for you! Blushberry, similar to Pinkberry, has now opened in Toronto! After having Pinkberry almost everyday last summer in NYC, I seriously could not breath when I saw this store today.

They offer 4 types of frozen yogurt (original, green tea, blush and chocolate) and a variety of fruit and dry toppings. Also, they have yogurt parfaits and signature smoothies, such as zen (green tea frozen yogurt, strawberry, banana, hoodia, organic soy milk), skinny bitch (chocolate frozen yogurt, strawberry, banana, hoodia, organic soy milk) and many more.

The fro yo is super healthy, around 30 calories per ounce and is high in essential vitamins and nutrients.

They are located at 155 Queen Street (Queen and John) and are opening 2 new locations soon in Yorkville and on Eglinton (which is right near my house!)

Get excited froyoers, Toronto finally has it's own Blushberry!

Get FroYo at: Yoyo's Yogurt Cafe

If you're like me and obsessed with frozen yogurt, I have news for all Londoners (Ontario)!

A new frozen yogurt cafe opened up! It is called YoYo Yogurt Cafe, and it is self-serve. Meaning, you choose your flavour (they have about 8 flavours, like tart, raspberry, strawberry, etc... all being low fat and kosher), choose whatever your toppings you want (have 20+ toppings, like strawberries, kiwi, Oreo's, cereal, and tons more), then you weigh your froyo and pay by the ounce.

It is $0.55/ounce, and there are different size cups so you can choose if you want a big or small treat.

It is located on Richmond Street, between Dufferin and Kent St.

Since I am only in London for less than 6 weeks, I hope the same kind of cafe opens up in Toronto soon!

Bakerella: The Queen of Baked Goods

I am always mesmerized by bakers who create lavish desserts. Yesterday, I stumbled upon this blog called Bakerella. She creates cupcakes, cakes, brownies, breakfast foods, cheesecake, pie, cookies, and other desserts. However, they are not your ordinary baked goods. She makes cake pops, cake balls, and cupcake pops.

Bakerella is my idol!!

Food Glorious Food: Covent Garden Market

Covent Garden Market

With the sun finally shining on my frost-covered window this morning, I decided to go with a friend to the Covent Garden Market in London, Ontario (Canada). The market runs every Thursday and Saturday, bringing local growers and artisans who sell a variety of foods, flowers, crafts, and beverages.

Fresh fruits and vegetables

The market offers: fruits and vegetables, baked goods, seafood, poultry, cheeses, coffee, tea, candy, ice cream, dry goods, flowers and gifts, organic foods, international foods, and arts and crafts.

A variety of feta cheese

One of my favourite booths at the market was the Sweet Cakes counter. Sweet Cakes sells nothing but CUPCAKES, CUPCAKES, and more CUPCAKES. The pink booth is filled with cupcakes of all flavors and sizes. Some classic flavors include: lemon, double chocolate, vanilla bean, banana chocolate, rainbow, caramel, and pina colada.

Cookies and Creme Cupcake

For the holidays, they also featured a gingerbread, snowflake, and snowman cupcake. They were so adorable! The gingerbread cupcake is made with a gingerbread cake and cream cheese frosting. How delicious does that sound?

The market is great to visit year-round. In the spirit of winter, there is also a skating rink located outside the market which is usually a great sitting area in the summer time.

Covent Garden Market is located at 130 King Street. I suggest you visit it!

Anyone know of any markets they can recommend?

Designer Cupcakes

Created by Lisa Edsalv, these are probably the most fashionable cupcakes you will ever see (or eat). Some of Lisa's creations include Betsey Johnson, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Christian Louboutin. If you can't afford these designers clothing, shoes, or accessories, maybe you can afford to eat these simply delicious looking cupcakes.

I think they are way too pretty to eat.... what are your thoughts?

Food Glorious Food: Dogs

Bark & Fitz- Dog Heaven

I am a huge dog lover. I think everyone should own a dog, they are the best pet. I have a miniature poodle, and she is very special to me! I take her everywhere I go, she gets spoiled majorly whenever I am home. While shopping with my mom today, we passed by Bark and Fitz, and decided to go inside.

This store is dog heaven. They have everything from Scoopie bags (pick up your dogs poo-bags), shoes, collars/leashes, and even a bakery. The bakery amazes me every time I go in. I once purchased dog sushi, cookies, and today I even saw a birthday cake! It had frosting and "Happy Birthday" written across the cake. On February 9th, Muffy (my dog) will get one of these for her special day, no doubt about it. Here is a picture of dog cupcakes, or "Pupcakes." They look good enough to eat!
Bark and Fitz has many locations across Ontario, Quebec, BC, and a store in New Jersey. I highly recommend this store - since it is not just for dogs, but for owners as well. All dog lovers will drool!

Food Glorious Food: Cupcakes

Oh So Sweet Everyone needs a little sweetening up in their life. After having been in NYC for almost 2 months, I have discovered some of the most delicious, mouth-watering pastry shops. Although they may not be the healthiest, it’s always okay to indulge once in a while! Here are some of the delectable places I’ve discovered…

1) Crumbs Bake Shop - They sell hand-made cupcakes and cakes. They are known for their signature LARGE sized cupcakes. Some of the flavors include: Nestle Crunch, Brownie, Butterfinger, Caramel Apple, and plenty more! PS: They even deliver to 48 states, sorry Canadians, hopefully soon.

2)
Milk and Cookies Bakery - They sell delicious, fresh baked cookies. There is really nothing better than a soft, gooey, chocolate chip cookie. Milk and Cookies even sells ice cream sandwiches, made with their own cookies and a scoop of ice cream. Their prices are reasonable too!

3)
The Cupcake Stop - If you’re a busy, on-the-go kind of person, just find the Cupcake Stop, a mobile truck selling cupcakes! They sell mini and normal-sized cupcakes, with flavors like: psychedelic tie dye, peanut butter and jelly, mint chocolate chip, and many more. This definitely beats the ice cream truck!

4)
Magnolia Bakery - One of New York’s most notable bakeries, Magnolia offers the finest in baked goods. They sell everything from cupcake cakes to icebox cakes to an assortment of cupcakes and cakes. Their flavors are unique and will fix your sweet tooth.

5)
Billy’s Bakery - All of their ingredients are made from scratch, and their menu is full of delicious treats. They sell cupcakes, cakes, cookies, bars, pies, and breakfast items. Billy’s offers traditional, specialty, and holiday cupcakes with scrumptious flavors.

Now that I’m sure your mouth is salivating, go indulge in something sweet! Are there any other places you can recommend? Let me know…
