NYC Weekend

This past weekend I was chosen to attend the Teen Vogue Fashion University seminar in NYC. It was an amazing weekend, and I got to listen to seminars from Anna Wintour, Vera Wang, editors of Teen Vogue, some famous bloggers, and many other talented professionals in the fashion industry. I was so honoured to attend this seminar, and loved meeting the hundreds of other attendees at this event.

Besides attending the seminar, some fine dining and shopping was done. Duh. I love going to NYC. I'm always so sad to leave, but hopefully I will call it my home some time in the future.

Stop'n'Style: NYC

NYC's Fashion Night Out

One of the biggest shopping events of the year, is around the corner and I will be in London, Ontario stuck in class.

On Thursday, September 10th, hundreds of retailers around the world will be open late for Fashion Night Out. This is a global initiative, and will take place in NYC, London, Italy, France, China, Russia, and Taiwan.
Unfortunately no Canadian city is on that list. That is a shame because retailers definitely would have benefited from my Visa.

The CFDA, Vogue, the City of New York and NYC & Co. have put this event together. As Anna Wintour told WWD "Over 300 stores citywide have signed on thus far, but I really want to urge everyone who hasn't done so already to come on board."
New York retailers have invited the public to meet designers, celebrities, DJs and sip on cocktails while shopping.

I'm pretty upset that I will not be in NYC, but I will live vicariously through my friends who are in the city.
I encourage all shopaholics and socialites to go out on the 10th to take advantage of this great event!

Visitors in NYC Part 2

Sorry I haven't been around the past couple days, I was the tour guide for my friends this past weekend. We did a lot of shopping, eating, and exploring NYC. We all found some great purchases, there are a lot of sales happening, FYI.

Never having been to TopShop before, my 2 gals loved it. This 3-floor building is filled with stylish clothing for women, men, and even a petite section. They have a great accessories section with jewelry (I got a cool pair of vintage-style earrings), an amazing shoe section (I got a pair of light turquoise oxford loafers), and all different style of clothing. We honestly could have spent hours in there! The best part was, they have a 10% student discount! Gotta love any discount you can get!

Another thing my friends loved was Pinkberry. Who wouldn't love cold, creamy frozen yogurt with fresh fruit or dry toppings on top? It was a good snack for such a hot weekend.

Enjoy your week! Happy Tuesday!

Visitors in NYC

Two of my best friends are coming to visit me this weekend in NYC! They have been counting down the days to shop, party, shop, and see me, of course. It's going to be an amazing weekend - they have already created a rough itinerary. I have been resting up because these 2 girls are going to keep me super busy!! They arrive tonight, and leave Tuesday. I will keep you updated on all of our adventures, stories, and purchases, duh!

Happy Friday!!!

Food Glorious Food: Cupcakes

Oh So Sweet Everyone needs a little sweetening up in their life. After having been in NYC for almost 2 months, I have discovered some of the most delicious, mouth-watering pastry shops. Although they may not be the healthiest, it’s always okay to indulge once in a while! Here are some of the delectable places I’ve discovered…

1) Crumbs Bake Shop - They sell hand-made cupcakes and cakes. They are known for their signature LARGE sized cupcakes. Some of the flavors include: Nestle Crunch, Brownie, Butterfinger, Caramel Apple, and plenty more! PS: They even deliver to 48 states, sorry Canadians, hopefully soon.

2)
Milk and Cookies Bakery - They sell delicious, fresh baked cookies. There is really nothing better than a soft, gooey, chocolate chip cookie. Milk and Cookies even sells ice cream sandwiches, made with their own cookies and a scoop of ice cream. Their prices are reasonable too!

3)
The Cupcake Stop - If you’re a busy, on-the-go kind of person, just find the Cupcake Stop, a mobile truck selling cupcakes! They sell mini and normal-sized cupcakes, with flavors like: psychedelic tie dye, peanut butter and jelly, mint chocolate chip, and many more. This definitely beats the ice cream truck!

4)
Magnolia Bakery - One of New York’s most notable bakeries, Magnolia offers the finest in baked goods. They sell everything from cupcake cakes to icebox cakes to an assortment of cupcakes and cakes. Their flavors are unique and will fix your sweet tooth.

5)
Billy’s Bakery - All of their ingredients are made from scratch, and their menu is full of delicious treats. They sell cupcakes, cakes, cookies, bars, pies, and breakfast items. Billy’s offers traditional, specialty, and holiday cupcakes with scrumptious flavors.

Now that I’m sure your mouth is salivating, go indulge in something sweet! Are there any other places you can recommend? Let me know…
